Portuguese cork manufacturer Amorim has produced a premium closure for a 70-year-old whisky that is being sold for £10,000 a bottle.
Gordon & MacPhail has chosen a teardrop-shaped hand-blown crystal bottle for the Mortlach whisky that is sold in a hand-made Brazilian Rosewood box.
Amorim's 'Prestige' stopper - a metallic cap with a silver finish - completes the pack.
"The Top Series range was developed to create custom-made packaging solutions for the premium sector of the spirits market utilising new technology and cutting-edge design," said Carlos de Jesus, Amorim director of marketing and communications.
Only 54 700ml decanters, which retail at £10,000, have been made but the firm has also produced 162 200ml containers priced at £2,500 a bottle.
David and Michael Urquhart, the joint managing directors of Gordon & MacPhail, said the 70-year-old whisky was "a malt without comparison".
Amorim's luxury stopper range was launched at the end of last year to target the premium spirits market.
