Mayday redesigns Extons cheese packs for retail push
Design agency Mayday has created new look packaging for cheese firm Extons in a bid to move into the retail market.
Extons supplies British and continental European cheeses to food service businesses and sandwich retailers and the redesign seeks to provide a flexible new identity that worked across the product range.
The design features a circular mark defined by the letter e, with an illustration of a cow in a meadow with its cowbell hanging over the ‘o’ in Extons.
Different colours are used to distinguish between the different products in the range and May has also relaunched Exton’s website.
Sales director Rachael Exton said the redesign would allow the Manchester-based firm to target a market where branding and premium perceptions were important.
“Our cheeses are now available to consumers directly at retail under our brand name and we are really building this area of our business,” said Exton.
