Mayday revamps Nom yoghurts as brand aims for 'next level' in UK
Packaging design agency Mayday has redesigned yoghurt maker Nom's entire range to help the brand's bid to ramp up its presence in the premium yoghurt market in the UK.
Austrian dairy Nom expanded into the UK last year when it opened a £60m dairy in Shropshire. It appointed Mayday earlier this year to overhaul its packaging with a bold design that would stand out in the category.
The new designs focus on the brand name, with a large logo against a cream background, while a silhouette image of a summer meadow is used, according to Mayday, to create a fresh, natural feeling and consistency across the range.
"Nom is now a clearly confident brand that communicates premium values, a strong brand look and feel and great retail presence," said Mayday creative director Roger Akroyd.
"The clarity and simplicity of the design will prompt easy recognition," he added.
Nom UK chief executive David Potts said: "We are taking Nom to the next level in UK markets and believe our fresh new look will really attract consumers at the point of sale."
Mayday was founded in 2003 and has worked on packaging and branding campaigns for clients including Jack Daniels, Fortnum & Mason, Southern Comfort and Sainsbury’s.
