Metal packaging firm Impress Group has produced new re-sealable cans for French drinks brand L’eau rouge.
The herbal infustion health drink is sold in bars, restuarants and nightclubs in the South of France and will be packaged in a 170ml wide open re-sealable can (WORC).
WORC is a laminated, necked and threaded three-piece steel bottle with a large diameter aluminium closure. The filled bottles are double seamed with a 52mm diameter food end.
“This packaging is completely new to the market and breaks with traditional packaging formats used for most energy and soft drinks,” said Philippe Cancel, owner of L’eau rouge enterprise SAS. “WORC is easy to open and drink from. Its wide top enables an even aroma release.”
The can was the result of a strategic alliance between Impress and Daiwa Can Japan. The L’eau rouge product will be featured at food and drink exhibition SIAL in Paris from 17-21 October.
“This is a great start for our new bottle cans segment,” added Impress Group marketing manager Doreen Decker. “We are confident we can build a good level of sales with Daiwa’s support.”
