Vivienne Westwood designs limited-edition Courvoisier bottle
Vivienne Westwood has designed a limited edition ‘jacket’ to cloak Courvoisier XO cognac bottles, which will be available this November in Harvey Nicholls.
The design of the jacket mirrors the knitted unisex military cardigan coats that feature in her current range of clothes.
Based on eighteenth century court dress and nineteenth century dandyism, the bottles feature a detachable eye patch and genuine Vivienne Westwood buttons.
Each bottle is signed and numbered by Vivienne Westwood.
Separately, the label and graphics for other types of Courvoisier in the range are also undergoing a revamp.
The VS (which stands for ‘very special’ and is stored for at least two years in cask) 70cl and 1L bottles known as ‘Josephine’ will stay the same bottle, but the Napoleon medallion image will change, to ‘enhance the premium look’, says the company.
A spokesperson for the brand’s distribution company said the redesign would create a consistent look across the range.
She added: “These changes are important for consistency and to communicate quality and drive value into the category. They unify the range and reflect the rich 200 year heritage of Courvoisier, by magnifying the association with Napoleon. “
