This net weight cold fill bottling and packing system, designed for use with milk, yogurt, and other dairy products was built from the ground up by WEIGHTPACK, Inc.. We fabricated this complex system according to 3A hygienic standards and incorporated extended shelf life protections. Starting with design and development, we saw the entire project through fabrication, assembly, wiring, and programming, and finally to shipping, installation, and commissioning.
The main features of this machine include an active H2O2 atomizing starwheel for decontaminating the packaging, a dry steam rinsing turret, a net weight filler with an ultraclean laminar flow design, and a rotary mechanical capper. Moving parts are never in contact with product flow to ensure hygienic conditions are maintained. Quality is assured by using weight cells underneath each filler turret to verify that empty containers are within a preset weight range and filled containers meet the exact net weight requirements. Sensors on the capper turret detect missing or improperly applied caps, and all containers not meeting standards are automatically marked for rejection. All product contact surfaces were executed in 316 stainless steel, and the design and construction allow for clean-in-place and sanitize-in-place maintenance.
We successfully designed this system to offer the benefits of net weight filling to an industry with very stringent sanitary design requirements. If you would like to learn more about this project, or how we can help build a packaging system that meets your unique demands, contact us today.
