Masking (crepe) tapes are used during painting and coating as protection against undesired splashes of paint or varnish. With masking tape it is possible to achieve sharp edges to the coating. Another advantage consists in the fact that the tape does not leave adhesive on the surface after removal.
The tape carrier is slightly roughened crepe paper, making the tape easily formable even on a broken surface.
Masking tape types (by heat resistance)
- ●up to 60°C: for painting and varnishing without final drying for indoor use only,
- ●up to 80°C: suitable also for use in drying oven for indoor use only,
