Granting a License to INVISTA Delights Ball Corporation
2008-12-01
Ball Corporation, which supplies metal and plastic packaging products for beverage, food and household customers, announced on July 30th that they have come to an agreement to deliver its own license to INVISTA. INVISTA is a company, which specializes in PET barrier packaging, is a producer of PolyShield barrier resins.

Mike Vaughn, the vice president of packaging innovation for Ball Corporation, said “in order to enhance packaging qualities for food and beverage products, Ball Corporation develops and applies a number of barrier technologies to guarantee the security.”

It is believed that PolyShield resins are alternatives from PET copolymers. The substance is reported to offer active oxygen barrier, retain carbonation and will be clarified in colored monolayer containers when 5% MXD6 is blended at the preform injection machine.

Containers that are made from PolyShield resin/MXD6 blends have been believed to protect effectively and reliably oxygen sensitive foods including beer, wine and juice.
