Design on Pet Foods is Humanized
2008-12-01
Elmwood, a brand design consultancy with multi-disciplines, has designed the pet food products including Purely and Pets at Home Deli. The design formats have been based on human food packaging trends.

According to Sue Mann, Elmwood project manager, the designs intend to set the image that people “will feed similar food to themselves as to their cats.”

Elmwood’s London-based Division was appointed to be in charge of the design. They create simple illustrations on the packaging and, first of all, they provide a window in the packaging so that consumers could take a look at what’s inside of the product.

The same approaches and cues are also applied to the Pets at Home Deli pack, which provides the service of prawns and chicken fillets for both dogs and cats.

Mann said "the quality of the food is pretty incredible for the deli range." ” It's like the quality of food in a deli for humans,” he added.
