Sustainability Falls into the Premium in Birds Eye

In order to pioneer the first-ever sustainability commitment program at the company, the frozen food giant Birds Eye has recently nominated Peter Hajipieris to be the director of the project and external affairs among the organization.

The Birds Eye View focuses its aim on nine different fields to promote the campaign such as climate change, waste & packaging, water use, transport miles, sustainable sourcing, healthy lifestyles and product labeling.

The company is in the hope of reducing food and packaging waste to the point of zero pollution to the environment by 2015. Also, CO2 emission in UK manufacturing plants will be diminished by 30% by 2020.

Be crowned to be the director of the scheme, Hajipieris said “I'm relishing building on the great work already undertaken by Birds Eye in this area." He continued to add “Birds Eye has a sound heritage in sustainable development and I look forward to driving this even further for our customers.”
