Sonoco, an international packaging manufacturer, reported on July 23rd about its first year sustainability effort. The company plans to continue to invest the sustainable business through three different aspects in the near future, which is called as the triple bottom line. The trio of the crucial measures accommodates environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic performance based on the company’s strategy and culture.
Harris E. DeLoach Jr., Sonoco's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said “Our goal is to be the packaging industry leader in creating and enhancing a sustainable future that benefits all of our stakeholders -- shareholders, customers, employees and the communities where we live and work."
The engagement is going to emphasize on the triple bottom line so that the organization could be more competitive among its competitors and it will also get ready enough to take the challenges coming on the road.
