AHOY launches Lancashire Farm’s new look
2015-05-22

From:Packaging News

Branding and digital agency Ahoy has redesigned packaging and the website for family-owned dairy producers, Lancashire Farm.

Like the agency’s work with pub and brewing giants, Greene King, their brief with Lancashire Farm was one that involved repositioning the brand’s offering. This time, the form that took was one of clarifying what the Lancashire Farm brand stands for, as well as freshening up its packaging, website and overall brand identity. Ahoy’s design and development efforts are supported by an ongoing content agreement filling out the company’s “From the Farm” blog.

After an exhaustive brand workshop with the client, the agency arrived at four core values to guide the Farm going forward, choosing to base their design route around the rolling hills of Lancashire – where all of their milk is sourced from. The route both literally and figuratively paints a friendly picture of the brand and the farm, using mixed media illustration and lively copy to give an overall impression of playfulness and inclusivity.

As well as redesigning the pots in the Lancashire Farm range itself, Ahoy have carried their design route through to the boxes that carry them, aisle fins, shelf strips, shelf talkers, van wraps, stock request letters, the brand’s fully responsive website, as well as their social media profiles.

David Newton, creative director at Ahoy said: “Lancashire Farm are exactly the kind of client we love working with at Ahoy, self-aware enough to cast a critical eye over their brand touchpoints but not precious of them by any means, trusting an agency that they haven’t worked with before to completely overhaul everything that the brand is today. Despite the successes they’ve had in their field, they’re confident enough to adopt the exact same underdog, going against the grain-type mentality that typifies Ahoy’s emphasis on working with the Brands of Tomorrow™. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Lancashire Farm, and we’re incredibly proud of everything that our design, development and copywriting teams have been able to pull off in the project.”

Jack Morrison, Lancashire Farm’s account manager said: “With any design-focused project a certain leap of faith is required when finding the right fit in terms of an agency – the final result will massively impact your brand. It was a great relief when we partnered with Ahoy on so many levels. They have continually gone above and beyond their call of duty throughout the entire process. We are extremely excited about the brand we have produced together and this just continues as the new packaging starts to filter onto shelf. Its tone and character has created a new dimension and level of interaction between ourselves and our customers. They have really understood our brand, our customers and our aspirations.”
