Rovema GmbH from the Hessian town of Fernwald near Giessen received the grand prize in this year's German Packaging Award 2014. The German packaging award is a European competition. The German Packaging Institute (dvi) annually honours innovative and creative packaging ideas with this award. The award was won by the packaging machine specialist Rovema for the BVC bagger with Premium Seal-technology in the category "Best Machine 2014". This prestigious award has been presented annually for the past 37 years.

At the BrauBeviale in Nuremberg, the newly developed two-axis vertical bagger (VFFS-vertical-form, fill, seal) known as "BVC 260 with Premium Seal-technology" was declared the winner by the main jury. Just to be nominated was a great honour for Rovema to be part of the best and most innovative companies in Germany. Amongst the 230 entries from ten European countries the BVC 260 bagger had already managed to join the exclusive circle of 61 nominees. Winning the grand prize sparked great joy and pride in the employees of Rovema.

The new vertical bagger BVC 260 with Premium Seal-technology impressed the jury with its modern design in a closed tube-frame-free housing that was developed to comply with modern hygiene requirements while at the same time featuring reproducible functionality and usability with the real time P@ck Control software controller. Above all, the Sense & Seal product sampling convinced the jury, which monitors  the force-closing movement subject to the position and thus responds to any particle inclusions as well as the Premium Seal-technology corresponding to packaging of particularly high quality of up to 10-6 helium sealing closures which is similar to a leakage resistance of <0.01 micron . The result is a seam strength that is increased up to 50% without compromising performance. The jury's decision was rounded off with the much improved Ecology and safety which proves the environmental awareness of Rovema and supports that of their customers. The energy-efficient controlled drives, the control software function and the smoothly running axes save much application-oriented energy. Braking energy is being stored or feedback to the mains.

It is the 10th packaging award in a row and highlights the innovative capacity of Rovema. In addition, this grand prize strengthens Rovema as an employer and contributes to job security in the region of Giessen and surroundings.
