Yorkshire favourite Ben Shaws gets redesign

Soft drinks brand Ben Shaws has redesigned its packaging to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of it being the first company to can soft drinks in Europe.

The Ben Shaws range includes old favourites such as cream soda, dandelion and burdock, bitter shandy and cloudy lemonade.

The Huddersfield-based firm tasked local design firm The Individual Agency with the redesign, using images of the old drinks factory.

"They had a wealth of photography from their archive," explained The Individual Agency's client services director Tracey Owens. "For us it really brought that story to life."

The Individual Agency also incorporated the diamond design, which has come to be associated with the Ben Shaws brand, in a subtle border.

All but the colour of the cream soda, which has changed from pink to blue, has remained the same.

"For us it's about adding a bit more vibrancy without going too modern," said Owens.
