The deal is to manufacture and supply packaging for the frozen food retailer’s own label frozen ready meal range. It’s the first time the pack format has moved into the frozen arena having already had success in the chilled ready meal market with Tesco.

According to IPS, the Desto cup is a combination of a lightweight, clear plastic inlet made from polypropylene making it suitable for hot fill, freezing and microwave and a paperboard wrap around sleeve which provides insulation and decoration. The pot and sleeve can be separated and designed to be easily recycled.
