Czech national best packaging competition
The Czech packaging competition 'OBAL ROKU', organised by the Czech Packaging Institute (SYBA) is open to any packaging or packaging material in six categories: 'Consumer packaging', 'Consumer gift packaging', 'Group packaging and display', 'Packaging materials', 'Transport and handling packaging' and 'Labels, closures, fixation and other auxiliary packaging'. The aim of the competition is to find, enhance and promote new ideas and technologies that follow current trends and bring innovative and successful solutions in the sector of goods packaging. The judging panel consists of an expert jury and a panel of delegates.
Judging for this year's competition was held on 23-24 June in Prague. 80 entries were reviewed by jury and 30 of these were selected as OBAL ROKU 2010 winners. Judges also nominated 5 winners for the special Jury Head´s Award - the "best-of-the best" packaging solution.
The five winners nominated for Jury Head´s Award this year are:
• A laminate tube with Braille by Tubapack a.s. (Slovakia)
• Illui's praline luxury packaging, by Grafobal a.s. (Slovakia)
• An 11-bottle crate by Rodinny pivovar Bernard a.s. (Czech Republic)
• Grafobal's packaging for Radmilla cherry & plumbs chocolates
• Universal group packaging for automotive wheels by Unipap a.s. (Czech Republic)
All winners will be honoured during the OBAL ROKU Awards Ceremony on 18 November 2010 in Prague's Olympik-Artemis hotel. At the same event the Jury Head´s Award will be also announced by Jana Lukesova, Head of Jury.
