New Packaging Materials Lead to Magic Glass Bottles in O-I
2008-12-01
O-I has recently phased in coated glass bottle, which is believed to be available at room temperature or directly from the freezer– the first Scotch to be served chilled.

The glass bottle is going to be applied to the new launched Whisky ‘Snow Grouse’ from The Famous Grouse, which is the oldest Whisky plant in Scottish.

The new texture remains the original tall and angular shape of the Famous Grouse bottle. Its material is made of organic coatings, which is designed to create an etch-effect finish.
Angela Spink, packaging technologist at the Edrington Group, said the bottle was the result of a "great collaborative effort" between the production and engineering departments and suppliers.

The new product could be currently available among the international duty-free markets.
