Bottled Water Still HOT in Finland
2008-12-01
In Finland, bottled spring waters and mineral waters are still popular among beverage industries. Flavored mineral waters are in particular HOT, whose sales rise up to 40% among entire bottled water sales.

Water manufacturers each year release new products with varying flavors, and now vitamins, juice or a little of sweetness are being added. “The new products’ sales show significant increase,” said Pasi Kuosmanen, head of non-alcoholic beverages business at Hartwall.

Based on statistics surveyed by beverage industries federation, sales of mineral water last year accounted for 69mn liters, with the increase of 0.9%. Hartwall sales make up of 40mn liters and Sinebrychoff 20mn liters.

For the first half of 2008, mineral water sales overall kept sound. In Finland, however, the market is expected to continue stable.
