Wine Carrier Facilitates Outdoor Markets
2008-11-28
Merry Widows, an Austrian wine brand will launch a new wine packaging in the UK with features of crown closure and an exclusive bottled carrier. The bottle will be in 250ml size fixed with a crown closure, which is considered to target at outdoor markets such as picnic.
The bottle size ranges from 250ml, 500ml to 750ml and has a rubber cork, which is going to release in UK from June.
The inventor of the bottle is Polish artist Zygmunt Piotrowski, who has been specializing in packaging design including Danone’s yoghurt. The Rotawise Printing Company in London is in charge of the carrier printing and production, which utilizes a single piece of folded 350gsm Frovi Carry board.
The product is designed with a shoulder anchored between two 250ml wine bottles and to facilitate users to grip the packed wines safely and conveniently. Labels will also be clear enough on the bottle for consumer examination and producers could spare the cost for information production on the carrier.
Linn Rothstein, founder and director of Merry Widows, said “the carrier is beneficial for women living on their own. They could pour the wine without opening the whole bottle of wine, which could diminish the guilty feeling as well.”
