A Company Built by Hard-work, Honesty, and Integrity CHEN YI PAPER Corp. was established in 1957 and has gone through several revolutionary changes that can be divided into four periods: 1.Seeding: Start from typography printing. After the establishment of Kaohsiung Export Processing Zone in 1967, CHEN YI instituted a carton factory to fill the need of product packaging. There were 258 employees working at our 2387 sq.m. factory which is major in the production of single wall corrugated board and corrugated carton. In September 1967, paper equipment was introduced as a quality control tool for our increased productivity. 2.Rooting: The new equipment ensured the steady and excellent quality of our products. Excellent products and on-time delivery brought constant orders. In October 1973, CHEN YI moved to its present location where the land area is increased to about 21594 sq.m. which in-turn increased the capital of the company to 12 million NTD. We also upgraded our equipments and adopted automated machinery to reduce the cost of our work force; meanwhile, our sales increased by 30%. In 1974, new equipments was purchased due to the demands of the increased business. Periodical training programs were also implemented to enhance the quality and knowledge of our employees. 3.Growing: The second production unit was established in 1978 and focused on the designing and production of decorated cartons in various shapes and colors. Cartons were no longer accessories but walking advertisements of products. Innovative designing ideas and breakthrough shapes attracted an enormous amount of orders. 4.Maturing: In 1982, in order to increase production of their decorated cartons, new off-set press were needed to decrease the processing time and eliminate the flaws of the regular slotted carton. Each year, our machinery was evaluated and old machines were eliminated to avoid lower productivity. In 1985, CHEN YI rearranged its policy and focused on the mass production of high-quality color boxes. Quality control was enforced mainly to avoid any qualitative instability. A Quality Control Department was established in May and was rated grade A in terms of quality control by the Taiwan Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, M.O.E.A.. CHEN YI acquired the qualification of CNS factory with the A grade quality control. The offshore migration of industries induced the decrease of business. To attract more business, CHEN YI invested 170 million dollars on the purchase of a series of the most advanced high-tech computerized automated production equipment to diversify and refine our products and started a new era of the high-quality packaging. Our business extends into the international market including Europe, America, Africa and Australia. Our business will expand toward Japan in the near future. |
