Autobox unveils quick-change corrugated box machine

Corrugated box manufacturer Autobox Machinery has developed a quick-change machine for both box plants and end users.

The Hipak Kinetic 2400 is conceived to require minimum set-up time and without having to fit any change parts.

Autobox managing director Barry Tabor said: "A box making machine only makes money when it's producing boxes so we have ensured that our new machines are quick set and engineered using the latest technology to provide reliable operation over many years and to provide optimum energy savings."

The machine is being pitched at both corrugated plants looking at short and medium run lengths and end users looking to produce boxes in house.

Kinetic 2400 takes pre-cut blanks and can produce more than 50 different box styles and with the addition of Autobox's HiCut module, the machine can process stock sheet.

It features an automatic feeder and automatic glue-flap removal for minimal operator attendance. An optional overhead feeder means palletised stock can bee automatically fed into the machine.

The machine is housed in a heavy-duty steel frame and the kinetic energy generated when the machine is slotting and creasing board is capture and reused so that Kinetic uses 95% less energy than previous models.
