Coca-Cola Zero trials P4CK’s “Corn On The Cup”
2016-04-28

From:Packaging News

P4CK has designed new packaging with Coca-Cola Zero for cinema-goers featuring a popcorn carton slotting onto the top of a drink cup.

With audiences having to continually juggle tickets, sweets, popcorn and drink at cinemas, “Corn On The Cup” is a simple piece of packaging enabling popcorn and drink to be held in one hand.

P4CK designed the Corn On The Cup to enhance the experience of movie goers by allowing them to simply scoop the popcorn and slot the carton on top of a Coke cup – giving cinema-goers a hand free.

Christopher Eves, co-founder of Corn On The Cup, said: “I remember them calling us paper magicians; Coke were very impressed, they talk about how the pack gives you a free hand; this allows the consumer to easily get to tickets, open doors, hold hands or even take a selfie; things you cant do with current cinema packaging. We received an extremely positive reaction from the trial with an increase in sales; so it looks like there is an encouraging future for Corn On The Cup.”

He added that he hoped the successful launch in Europe will see further success globally.

The patented product was launched on the Coca-Cola stand at the 2015 CineEurope Convention in Barcelona.

Trials are currently under way in Italy, Austria and Romania.
