Twinings Poland has opted for three high-speed carton closing machines for its range of premium teas from packaging machinery manufacturer Kliklok.

The new C1H carton closers meet Twinings’ brief to close 20-count and 25-count cartons filled with tagged teabags at a speed of up to 90 cartons per minutes. The technology is a continuous motion automatic closer designed specifically for hood cover-style cartons, which is becoming a preferred style for tea packers as it provides a caddy pack reclosable feature with or without a tamper-evident glue spot, Kliklok said.

The machines were engineered according to Twinings electrical and mechanical specifications and incorporate Siemens controls and integrated conveyoring system.

Kliklok has previously gained experience of installing machinery for tea brands such as Lipton, Five Roses and Typhoo. Twinings international project manager Wojciech Goszka described the company’s handling of the project as the best had had experienced, according to Kliklok.
