Macfarlane launches new inflatable packaging system
2015-06-11

From:Packaging News

Macfarlane Packaging has launched a new inflatable packaging system, Airsac, for the internet retail and electronic repair sectors.

It was developed by Wolverhampton-based Network Packaging, which is now part of the Macfarlane Group following its acquisition last year.

According to the UK packaging distributor, Airsac minimises damages and returns, ensuring products are delivered in pristine condition. The system is said to be; environmentally friendly and composed of only 2% film and 98% air, 100% recyclable, reusable, available in a wide range of sizes and customisable to specific customer requirements.

The Airsac system will be particularly beneficial to the internet retail and electronic repair sectors as it has been designed specifically for fragile and breakable goods that are often mailed to customers such as wine, mobile phones, damage-prone IT components and TVs.

Laurel Granville, marketing director of Macfarlane Packaging, said: “Airsac is an exciting product for our internet retail customers and the electronic repair market as it prevents damage and breakages during shipment to customers. Based on our learning from Network Packaging, we are today making Airsac accessible nationally to Macfarlane’s extensive customer base in the UK who will see the benefits of this innovative product.

“The feedback from the customers of Network Packaging who are using Airsac is that they are benefitting from reduced damage, lower returns and also an enhanced experience for their customers as they consistently receive their products in excellent condition. The added benefit of Airsac being 100% recyclable has also been an important feature for the customers of Network Packaging.”
