Nampak Plastics Europe has bought fellow HDPE bottle manufacturer FourFourTwo (442) for an undisclosed amount.

Nampak completed the acquisition of 442 on 1 October. Both companies specialise in the manufacture of bottles for dairy processors and juice manufacturers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Eric Collins, managing director of Nampak Plastics, said: “Customers will benefit from security of supply, access to better technical support and expertise, and access to environmental solutions, such as bottles made from recycled HDPE.”

FourFourTwo was created in 2007 after a management buyout from Auspac and Elopak Plastic Systems that created the largest privately-owned HDPE bottle manufacturer in the UK.

Nampak has recently opened an in-plant facility for the manufacture of HDPE bottles at Dale Farm’s dairy in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.
