Culina Logistics, a specialist in total supply chain solutions and a key third-party logistics CHEP customer, has switched 250,000 movements per annum from LPR onto CHEP blue pallets.
Since winning a contract with one of the world’s leading dairy producers to provide chilled transportation for the distribution of dairy products, Culina Logistics has worked with CHEP to convert to its Managed Recovery service.
Under this service, Culina collects trade-quality pallets from retailers in full truckloads, then returns them directly to the dairy producer to ensure their continuous use through the supply chain.
Culina Logistics Administration Manager Martin Webster said: “Having worked with CHEP on some 1.3 million pallet movements already, we were impressed by how straightforward CHEP is to do business with, their commitment to improving the level of engagement and our relationship with them as a whole. From 1 July, we will commence the switch to use CHEP’s standard 1200x1000 millimetres blue pallets, which we estimate will total 250,000 additional movements per annum.”
CHEP UK & Ireland Retail Director Gordon Corbett said: “The importance of third-party logistics providers means we are keen to develop stronger and deeper relationships through regular account reviews, improved product quality and the development of services that add real value to the whole supply chain.
“After listening carefully to our customers, removing unnecessary complexities has been an area of focus and I am pleased that customers are already experiencing how easy we are to do business with.”
