2012-11-16

PackagingNews

Telford-based TCL Packaging has entered the next phase of its growth strategy after, what it calls, a successful management buyout led by its existing management team

TCL Packaging is a printer of flexible packaging films. It was formed in 1999 by former managing director Tim Crow. The firm’s current turnover is £10m and it employs 50 people.

Majority shareholder and managing director Mike Golding has been with TCL for two years.

Speaking to Packaging News, Golding said that over the last three to four years TCL has managed to grow its top-line by 15% per annum and “was a small player in a huge market”. He also said that the market was strong at the moment and the firm hoped to expand its customer base.

Golding added: “This is the beginning of an exciting new phase for TCL. During my time with the company we have seen volume growth of over 40%. 2011/12 has been an unprecedented year of performance with indications that this strong upward trend will continue during the current financial year.

“To augment our growth strategy, I am delighted that Markus Jarvstrom, technical director will continue with me on the new board to lead our enhanced technical and product development programmes.”
