Following over 40 years of hard work, Cheng Loong Corp. has gone from being a corrugated paper box plant in Banciao with capital of 800,000 NTD, to its present stage of development as a company that has spread throughout the island, established footholds throughout Asia, and is currently moving towards the rest of the world. It has become an international paper manufacturing and services conglomerate. For the past forty years, in addition to economic growth in the broader environment, Cheng Loong has enjoyed steady development, and with the hard work and positive effort of leaders from each section of the company and our numerous staff, we have created a unique and outstanding enterprise culture, emphasizing sincerity, positive devotion, valuing the customer, respecting staff, valuing resources, insistence upon effectiveness, and the pursuit of growth.
Established in 1959, Cheng Loong Corp. was previously known as Cheng Loong Box Plant. Currently, under the overall leadership and planning of the Banciao head office, the company has expanded in scale to reach every corner of Taiwan. It possesses 4 paper mills and 5 paper box plants. It has also established manufacturing and sales sites in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, the United States, Europe, and Australia. The conglomerate’s annual capacity of paper and paperboard can reach 1.8 million tons while the capacity of paper box can reach 1,600 million square meters. In 2007, the company's total revenue was 23,500 million NTD, and is Taiwan's largest integrated industrial paper company and ranked at the Top 100 manufacturing companies in Taiwan. At the same time, Cheng Loong is also one of the world’s Top 100 paper companies.
Cheng Loong has invested great effort in the area of product research, introducing automated equipment, implementing rationalization and improvement of production processes and procedures, and improving management and service techniques. It was the first paper manufacturing company in Taiwan whose factories obtained ISO 9000 certification. It was also the first paper company to introduce steam and electricity co-generation equipment, in order to reduce energy expenditures. We have positively promoted the reduction of industrial waste, and our production process emphasizes reduced use of natural resources and clean production. We have increased the rate of use of recycled waste paper. We were also the first company in the domestic paper industry to obtain ISO 14001 and ISO 14064 certification, and starting from 1998, obtained environmental prizes for seven years. In 2004, we were also awarded with the first National Sustainable Development Achievement Award.
